Schedule & Work-Life Balance

  • Full-Time: 4-Day Work Week
  • Part-Time: 3-Day Work Week
  • No Weekend Shifts Required
  • Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Position Overview

The Associate Veterinarian is responsible for diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries while helping elevate the quality of care within the hospital.

You will practice high-quality medicine, work independently with sound clinical judgment, collaborate with experienced leadership, and contribute positively to hospital culture.

Medical Responsibilities

  • Perform physical exams and diagnostics
  • Develop treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications and therapies
  • Perform surgery and oversee anesthesia
  • Interpret radiographs and laboratory results
  • Perform humane euthanasia when appropriate

Medical Documentation

  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient records
  • Complete SOAP notes professionally and efficiently

Client Communication

  • Clearly explain diagnoses and treatment plans
  • Educate clients on preventive care
  • Provide follow-up when appropriate
  • Handle difficult conversations with empathy and professionalism

Team Collaboration

  • Support and mentor technical staff
  • Participate in team meetings and training
  • Contribute to a respectful, team-first culture

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent)
  • Active North Carolina veterinary license
  • NC Privilege License
  • DEA License
  • In good professional standing
