Position Type & Schedule

Position Overview
The Associate Veterinarian is responsible for diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries while contributing to the continued growth and excellence of Seagrove Animal Hospital.
You will practice high-quality medicine, exercise sound clinical judgment, collaborate with leadership, and support a positive hospital culture.
Medical Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive physical exams and diagnostics
- Develop and implement treatment plans
- Prescribe medications and therapies
- Perform surgical procedures and oversee anesthesia
- Interpret radiographs and laboratory results
- Perform humane euthanasia when appropriate
Medical Documentation
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely patient records
- Complete SOAP notes professionally and efficiently
Client Communication
- Clearly explain diagnoses and treatment plans
- Educate clients on preventive care and wellness
- Provide follow-up when appropriate
- Handle difficult conversations with empathy and professionalism
Team Collaboration
- Support and mentor technical staff
- Participate in team meetings and in-house training
- Contribute to a respectful, collaborative hospital culture
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent)
- Active North Carolina veterinary license
- NC Privilege License
- DEA License
- In good professional standing
